Since the end of 2022, Quebec has required companies operating in the province to comply with the requirements of Bill 25. <\/span><b>This law aims to protect the privacy of individuals<\/b> by regulating the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by organizations.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The implementation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebec.ca\/nouvelles\/actualites\/details\/loi-25-nouvelles-dispositions-protegeant-la-vie-privee-des-quebecois-certaines-dispositions-entrent-en-vigueur-aujourdhui-43212\"><span style=\"color: #e14940;\">Bill 25<\/span><\/a> is gradual, and will continue until 2024, after which <strong>your dealership will be required to fully comply.<\/strong><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;30px&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;What is personal information?&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:div|font_size:24px|text_align:left|line_height:28px&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic&#8221; el_class=&#8221;title_primary&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-family: Roboto;\">The data considered as personal information and protected by Bill 25 are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: Roboto;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>IdentifIcation data:<\/strong> names, addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers,.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: Roboto;\"><b>Sensitive data:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> SIN, income, membership of religious or other groups, sexual orientation, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: Roboto;\"><b>Profiling data: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IP addresses, digital behaviour, cookie data, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;35661&#8243; img_size=&#8221;750&#215;400&#8243; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; onclick=&#8221;custom_link&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Significant penalties&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:div|font_size:24px|text_align:left|line_height:28px&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic&#8221; el_class=&#8221;title_primary&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: Roboto;\">If you fail to protect this data adequately, you risk incurring administrative penalties (up to $10,000,000 or 2% of total revenues) as well as criminal sanctions of up to $25,000,000 or 4% of total revenues.
