For some it&#8217;s working from home, for others it&#8217;s taking the car to work and that&#8217;s about it. Our systems measuring the level of engagement and traffic on the sites managed by SM360 indicate that consumers are still present online, especially in the West of the country.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator color=&#8221;custom&#8221; align=&#8221;align_left&#8221; border_width=&#8221;3&#8243; el_width=&#8221;10&#8243; accent_color=&#8221;#e14940&#8243; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1584458467906{margin-top: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Here is an overview of traffic statistics* for the start of this week:&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h2|font_size:24px|text_align:left|line_height:28px&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal&#8221; el_class=&#8221;title_secondary&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1584569031237{margin-top: 0px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<strong>Canada<\/strong> has seen its <strong>traffic drop by about 12%<\/strong> in the last 48 hours, on sites that are part of our network of new car dealers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Quebec<\/strong> has a <strong>combined drop of 14%<\/strong> for Monday, March 16th and Tuesday, March 17th, compared to the same period the previous week.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The situation is similar <strong>in Ontario<\/strong> with a <strong>drop of 13%<\/strong> for the same period.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Western Canada<\/strong> held steady with a <strong>slight drop of less than 5%<\/strong>. We anticipate a decline that will follow Quebec and Ontario as isolation measures become apparent.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like most of us, consumers are getting organized and adjusting to their new reality. We are pleasantly surprised that the drop is not drastic. We can predict that consumers, who have been practicing social distancing for several days, will feel the need to be entertained and to dream of their next vehicle for the coming spring.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Opportunities are emerging&#8230;&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h2|font_size:24px|text_align:left|line_height:28px&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal&#8221; el_class=&#8221;title_secondary&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1584568935217{margin-top: 0px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some dealers or major players in the industry have panicked and massively cut their advertising budget. This opens the door to falling advertising costs and increased visibility for those who remain opportunistic. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, <strong>the cost per click of 360.Agency customers on Google decreased by 10%<\/strong> Monday, March 16th <strong>and 15%<\/strong> Tuesday, March 17th, compared to the same period the week before the COVID-19 crisis. Impression share on Google\u2019s search network doubled for the same period, <strong>which means more visibility for the same budget<\/strong>. Some dealers have seen a marked increase in traffic in the past 48 hours, possibly due to this drop in price.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We advise our dealership customers to adapt their strategy by slightly reducing the focus on bottom of the funnel conversions in order to shift part of the budget to medium-term strategies such as retargeting and social media.
